I have been seeing this place for awhile now so I finally decided to give it a try. We had to wait about 20-30 min from ordering to get two panini sandwiches. So definitely give yourself time if you're in a rush. The sandwiches range from $20-$25 dollars. I got the toscano which was very yummy and was filling enough to split between two people. We also got the daily special which was good but the sandwich was very oily and got very soggy it was harder to eat. Overall, although the price feels expensive I'd go again when I'm craving a good hearty sandwich.

OMG it's like a quick lunch trip to Italy! The ingredients are top notch, so obviously the food is too. Bread and cheese heaven! The bolognese sandwich was delightful. There are a very few stalls in front of the store - other than that parking is a bit annoying in that area but the food makes it worth it.

Thank you God! Only on the east coast do you get this Italian Deli and pizza place! This place is family owned and you can tell the service is amazing! I had the Sausage and mushroom pizza was awesome! we had a Sicilian sandwich you have to try it! Broke da mouth!

Are they pricey? Yes. Is their food good? Yes. Would I go back again? Yes. Despite the price, the quality is good, and the sizes are large. My suggestion is to skip the drinks. Most disappointing part about my whole visit. My husband did like the sparkling coffee, though. So, their mozzarella is made fresh, which is really delicious. Their food is made to order, so there is a wait. Outside eating is nice, but they are quite busy during dinnertime. I am eating a more pescatarian diet, so they had enough options for me. The server was nice enough, but since they were busy, I was not greeted upon entering.

Calling all Italian food lovers! This is a legit Italian place. This is where to get your authentic Italian fixings, including delicious Roman style pizzas, fresh deli meats, fresh mozzarella and burrata, wine, beer, cannolis, tiramisu, everything Italian you can wish for. ***The sandwiches were not consistent between the first and second visit. This knocks it down to a 4 star for me. We had much less meat and stracciatella on our bolognese sandwich the second time. The bread was also too crispy, they left it in the oven too long. For $19 sandwich, I expect more quality control. Food & Drink: Pinsa Romana (ROMAN STYLE PIZZA) "Our special blend of flours, high hydration levels and a long fermentation process creates a crust that's easily digestible, soft and airy all while retaining that crisp and crunchy outside." + Pinsa Del Giorno $25 Speck (Smoked Prosciutto), Asiago Pressato Cheese, Truffle Crema, Mushroom Medley & Truffle Oil --for the true truffle lovers! Loved this special +Bolognese $19 --pistachio crema, mortadella, stracciatella, whole pistachios on Schiacciata Bread. Similar to Foccacia, except Tuscan Schiacciata Bread is larger, thinner, and crunchier. Very well balanced. Their best seller. +Sicilano $19 We got this the second time we came and it was good. I didn't like the peppers as much though. Paired well with the Italian Beer and Lemonade. Food enough to share between 2 people. The bad: street parking only! There's only a few spots up front but are always taken. It's hard to find so you will have to wait for an open spot. Ambiance is nice. There's a little shaded spot next door with tables you can enjoy. It does get very hot though so I'd eat quickly before melting away in the Hawaii summer heat.

I went to Bocconcino on Wednesday, around 5:30. They had a handful of other customers browsing the wares or waiting for their orders. At the time, there were still 3 Tiramisu, many pistachio, and 2 key lime desserts. I personally did not partake of any, but my friends noted they were delicious. I went with the Margherita pizza since I was a bit overwhelmed by the preset choices. Margherita Pizza: 9/10. This is a very simple pizza in terms of ingredients, but there was a nice complex taste to it. Perhaps it was their daily made fresh mozzarella? I am not sure what it was, but it was very good. The bread/crust was nice and crispy, the tomato sauce wasn't overpowering, the mozzarella was very good, and the basil was the creme de Le creme. I am not sure if I want to keep getting their or risk trying their other choices next time! This was a nice find for a last-minute dinner plan. Do note there is no table service and there is limited table space outside.

Italian grocery store that also sells sandwiches and pizza. We got to try some sandwiches and pizzas and they're very good. Tables are set up on the side, outside the store. There's a sink also for handwashing which i appreciate.

Three words: Bocconcino is *LEGIT*!!! If you have ever wondered what authentic Italian panini and pizza roman-style taste like, just imagine something mind-blowing and multiply that by a hundred. That's what you'll get at Bocconcino. Toasty hot bread baked in-house, freshly made mozzarella di buffala, stracciatella and fior di latte, fresh and grilled veggies, paper-thin sliced cured salumi and prosciutto and mortadella, mouth-watering spreads like truffle cream and pesto... This leveled-up Italian deli and delicatessen has it all and even doubles up as a specialty shop! Bocconcino carries a plethora of D.O.C wines, sott'oli, dried pasta, jarred sauces and tuna filets, sweets and jams and honey and so SO much more. They even sell my favorite aperitivo snack: tarallucci al cacio e pepe... but don't buy that... you won't like it... *wink* My cousin, who has never been to Italy and does not possess a refined palate, said that I "should try this Italian sandwich place by Ward!"... Having lived in Italy for more than a decade from the south at the tip of the heel and all the way to the north bordering Switzerland, I am very much an 'I couldn't possibly take your word for it without trying it first' kind of skeptic. I don't like being disappointed! Bocconcino did not disappoint... the parking on a Saturday, however, did... Parking in this area is a nightmare but don't let that discourage you from coming. Circle a few times and just imagine how happy you'll be knowing that the food will actually be worth the wait. Real Italian food virgins, I cannot recommend enough this amazing and authentic spot. It's a true gem. I don't think I ate a panino and pizza romana so good when I lived in Italy, to be honest. What I recommend: -The Ortolana (absolute fave!! Grilled veggies and house made mozzarella) -Salsiccia and Porcini -The Margherita (a classic) -Panino del giorno (today was prosciutto, crema di tartuffo, mozzarella and porcini) -A beer with your order... he's got a few German ones to choose from. (Almeno che non decide di portare qua Raffo per noi sfighati grezzi). What I don't recommend: - Coming here on a Saturday at noon when you're starving... parking and wait time can make you hangrier!! Plus, the limited but really inviting seating area can be... unavailable if it's crowded...

Wow, one of the best sandwiches and pizza I have tried. Bocconcino is located in Kakaako and with a bright yellow building. The parking is very limited out the front of the store. They freshly make their mozzarella cheeses and are known for the burrata cheese. The store is like a grocery store where you can purchase their cheeses, deli meats, and other ingredients. They also have a counter for ordering and picking up their coffee, sandwiches, and pizzas. Bolognese: This sandwich was their most popular. It was an eye opener after the first bite! The stracciatella cheese was so rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The pistachio crema was nutty and add texture to the sandwich. The mortadella pork meat was thin and flavorful. Such a simple sandwich with a burst of flavor after the first bite. Siciliano: I tried homemade Italian sausages at other places and they had a very strong and gamey taste, almost "stinky" tasting. However, Bocconcino's homemade Italian sausages were amazing and just full of flavor. Best Italian sausage I've tried. The siciliano was also a good sandwich. The roasted vegetables and caramelized onions were sweet and delicious. The cheese melted in the sausage was so good. The sausage was juicy and had the right amount of spices. Ortolana: The pizza was another eye opener. The tomato sauce was not overpowering and it was light enough to add flavor to the pizza. The roasted vegetables were fresh and perfectly roasted. The pizza dough was good and soft. The crust was not burnt which I have experienced at many pizza places and I dislike burnt crust. The burrata cheese on top was the star. It was creamy and stretchy. Pistachio and ricotta cake: This cake was pretty good. I like how it wasn't too sweet. The ricotta flavor was good and the pistachio flavor was subtle. Overall, a huge fan of their sandwiches and pizzas. Such simple, fresh, and quality ingredients can make such a huge difference in flavor. Their sandwiches and pizzas are reasonably priced. The sandwiches are pretty large where half of it is very filling. The pizzas were also cut in 6 squares and 2 squares were filling enough for me. The only issue I have was regarding the wait time after ordering online. After placing my online order, I would arrive 20-25 minutes around the estimated time scheduled. However, after arriving, my sandwich has not been made yet. I would have to wait another 15-20 minutes for my sandwich to be ready. This already happened a few times. For the pizza, it was ready at pick up.
